Struggling Readers is a 2-day PD series for elementary teachers to learn about the essential components of early reading, with a focus on planning effective instruction for struggling readers. Recently, 13 teachers participated in Struggling Readers by learning how to use the DRA -Word Analysis tools to design targeted interventions. The Dearborn Teachers Reading Academy (DTRA) just graduated its 13 cohort of teachers and administrators. Over 300 Dearborn educators have completed this six-day series focused on effective literacy teaching and learning. Cohort 14 begins in November, with additional cohorts planning to start in January, June and August. Some pictures from yesterday’s graduation:
